Bifold Door Operation
Many people worry about how easy bifold doors are to use. Perhaps they have experienced in the past, the old style of bifold door which was heavy and continually got stuck on it's tracks.
As you can see from the video above, this is no longer the case. The bifold doors of today have smooth operation. They are easy enough that children or the elderly could open and close the doors with no problem.
Some bifold door companies use old technology in their running tracks still, so it's important you find a trustworthy company that uses the latest and best technology.

Wood Clad Bifold Doors - The Advantages
There are many, many advantages to choosing a clad bifold door.
Firstly, clad bifolding doors are a great choice if you require different colours on the outside and inside. You can easily remove the cladding to repaint, varnish or switch wood species entirely. The external aluminium frame is low-maintenance and easy to clean.
Secondly, aluminium is incredibly tough and durable. If you require a folding door that is tougher than wood, aluminium is the choice for you. In areas which are exposed to high levels of sunlight aluminium does not fade or weather. With a clad sliding door, you can have the appearance of wood inside, but the strength and durability of aluminium, without having to make compromises deciding between the two.
Some clad bifold doors have visible nailed on glazing beads and appear very poorly put together. They don't come with the option of easily being able to clip off the cladding to change it. In fact, most clad systems are wooden with aluminium clad. They are bulky, with gaps which allow condensation to build up, which can lead to mould and rot. The aluminium cladding is clipped on, resulting in a lower security.

Ali-Clad Bifold Doors - Two Styles in One
Today, I’m going to talk about the two faces of ali-clad doors.
As I mentioned in my first post - Ali-Clad Bi-Fold Door Blog, ali-clad bifold doors are aluminium bifold doors with an interior wooden cladding. This not only gives you the practical advantages of aluminium on the outside - durability, low-maintenance and strength - but also the modern, customisable style. With 210 colours to choose from you’re bound to find your match, and the finish is not only maintenance-free but it is scratch and dent resistant, so you don’t have to worry about any damage.
If you require a different colour internally, no problem! With ali-clad bifold doors you can have the external aluminium frame a completely different colour. The best part is, with the easily interchangeable wood cladding, you can change your interior frame colour to suit. Not only do you get a choice of woods and a choice of wood stains or 210 RAL colours, but you can change between wood species, finish and colour.
